Throughout
Blue Öyster Cult's impressive career, the band has earned a well-deserved
reputation as "the thinking man's heavy metal band." BÖC
came out of Long Island, NY, and immediately delighted critics and fans.
Utterly relentless touring developed and strengthened the fan base,
and the band remains a fearsome road warrior to this day. Blue Öyster
Cult is celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2002, and the legendary hard-rock
band honored the occasion by releasing the live CD 'A Long Day's Night'
and a companion DVD/VHS home video.
"When my friends and I first
started experimenting with listening to music and ideas that were not
of the mainstream, Blue Öyster Cult's album "Spectres"
was an ever present fixture on the turntable. It got played a lot, and
it got played loud, and the first track almost taught us how to speak
Japanese."
